91ÊÓƵTropical Storm Debby update

The University of 91ÊÓƵ continues to monitor Tropical Storm Debby and any impacts to the Tampa Bay region. The safety of students, faculty and staff is our highest priority as we track the storm.

Based on the latest weather information and assessment of our facilities:

  • The 91ÊÓƵSt. Petersburg campus will reopen and resume normal business operations on Tuesday, August 6.  Please avoid parking on the peninsula near the College of Marine Science to facilitate cleanup. 
  • The 91ÊÓƵTampa campus (including 91ÊÓƵHealth downtown) and 91ÊÓƵSarasota-Manatee campuses will continue with normal business operations on Tuesday, August 6. Mote Marine Labs will remain closed on Tuesday, August 6.  Separate communication will be sent once Mote is ready to reopen.
  • 91ÊÓƵHealth will continue with normal clinical operations on Tuesday, August 6. Patients with questions may call the 91ÊÓƵHealth appointments hotline at 813-821-8038.

Anyone who has difficulty traveling to campus on Tuesday due to issues caused by the storm should notify their instructors or supervisors as soon as possible. Faculty members and supervisors are asked to be patient and understanding with their students and staff during these unique circumstances.  Everyone is urged to use caution when traveling to campus.

Unless the situation changes significantly, we do not expect to provide additional updates on Tropical Storm Debby.

The University of 91ÊÓƵ continues to monitor Hurricane Debby and any impacts to the Tampa Bay region. The safety of students, faculty and staff is our highest priority as we track the storm.

Based on the latest weather information and initial assessments of our facilities, 91ÊÓƵhas made the following decisions:

  • The 91ÊÓƵTampa campus (including 91ÊÓƵHealth downtown) will continue with normal business operations on Monday, August 5. Anyone who has difficulty traveling to campus on Monday due to issues caused by the storm should notify their instructors or supervisors as soon as possible. Faculty members and supervisors are asked to be patient and understanding with their students and staff during these unique circumstances. Everyone is urged to use caution when traveling to campus.
  • The 91ÊÓƵSt. Petersburg campus will be closed on Monday, August 5, due to ongoing impacts from the storm. For 91ÊÓƵSt. Petersburg employees, only those who are 1) classified as essential personnel or 2) identified by their supervisors as critical to campus operations should report to work, come to campus or work remotely while campus is closed on Monday. Essential personnel who need to report will be contacted by their supervisors. Non-essential staff are not expected to work, remotely or otherwise, while campus is closed. Please contact your supervisor if you are unsure of your status.  We expect the 91ÊÓƵSt. Petersburg campus to reopen and resume normal business operations on Tuesday, August 6, however a final decision will be announced on Monday after further assessment.
  • The 91ÊÓƵSarasota-Manatee campus will continue with normal business operations on Monday, August 5. However, Mote Marine Labs will be closed. Anyone who has difficulty traveling to campus on Monday due to issues caused by the storm should notify their supervisor as soon as possible. Faculty members and supervisors are asked to be patient and understanding during these unique circumstances. Everyone is urged to use caution when traveling to campus.
  • 91ÊÓƵHealth will continue with normal clinical operations on Monday, August 5. Patients with questions may call the 91ÊÓƵHealth appointments hotline at 813-821-8038.
